SUMMARY:KEF–IC Instructors' Course & Awards Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Complete your KEF–IC instructor training alongside instructors of the Australian Army Combatives Program (ACP)\, and experience new KEF–IC modules!\nThis Kinetic Fighting–Integrated Combat Instructors’ Course enables KEF–IC instructors-in-training to practise teaching with ACP-qualified Australian soldiers over two days. In addition to qualification training and up-skilling\, the weekend also includes the newest KEF–IC course\, Multiple-Attacker Response (‘India’ module) as well as Violence Prevention Essentials and Dynamic Threat Management (‘Foxtrot’ and ‘Golf’ modules).* These are included with any fully paid course ticket or can each be done separately (book via Moshtix here). \nEvery course ticket also includes a seat at the KEF Awards Dinner on the Saturday night\, with fine food\, drinks and networking with your fellow instructors. Basic\, Army-style accommodation on barracks is included for the Friday and Saturday nights\, but is not compulsory. \nCourse Details:\nAt Sargood Barracks\, Melbourne\, in one of the Australian Army’s ACP training facilities\, you will take a deep dive into the application of KEF concepts. You’ll refine your skills and learn to teach the material hands-on\, while being mentored by KEF’s highly experienced Combatives Master Trainers (CMTs). As part of the learning and qualification process\, your lesson delivery will be evaluated by both the CMTs and fellow trainees\, including currently licensed KEF–IC Instructors. \nAlready qualified instructors who attend may be tested (and upgraded upon passing) to teach the next module in the syllabus above their current teaching qualification. \nHeading up the coaching will be Paul Cale — KEF–IC/ACP creator\, Australian Defence Force Martial Arts Association (ADFMAA) Head Coach and former Commando Sergeant. He will be joined by violence-prevention expert Mathew Wann and other KEF–IC/ACP Combatives Master Trainers. \n+ Awards Dinner\nYour course booking includes one seat at the KEF–IC/ACP Awards Dinner on the Saturday night. The dinner is run true to traditional Army customs and includes a three-course meal\, wine and port (beer and spirits are also available at bar prices). Extra tickets for partners\, friends and KEF–IC members not attending the full course can be booked via  Moshtix from 11 November. \n+ Instructor’s Starter Pack\nThe cost of the course also covers a 12-month teaching license (to instruct the specific levels passed)\, two KEF–IC Instructor T-shirts and 10 free course books for your future students.** \nEligibility & Preparation\nIf you hold a KEF–IC Grey Belt or Green Belt rank\, or are ready to grade to Grey Belt by 10 December (the grading will be covered on Saturday)\, you will be eligible to do this course. You will be educated in the finer points of teaching some or all of the KEF–IC modules A–E (in order\, depending on your readiness for each)\, and certified to teach these modules after passing.*** \nThis rare opportunity for critical skill-enhancement and coaching development in ACP/KEF–IC is limited to 20 people for this year\, so don’t miss out! \nSecure your place now with an immediate booking\, or pay a 50% deposit and the balance by 1 December. \n  \n* Instructors may choose to spend time completing further instructor assessments on A–E modules instead of doing the Foxtrot module.  \n** Booklets (normally $55 each) and T-shirts ($38) are free for first-time instructors only. \n*** Teaching can only begin after submission of a completed KEF–IC instructor license agreement and a current public-liability insurance certificate.

SUMMARY:Violence Prevention Essentials – Melbourne
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to prevent violence before it happens\, using proven behavioural analysis and threat-detection methods. Behavioural intelligence expert Mathew Wann — author of Predicting Violence: How to Interpret Nonverbal Cues — will teach you how to become a ‘hard target’ in any environment. \nWith over 15 years of experience in nonverbal communication and behavioural analytics for Defence\, Mathew Wann is a specialist in his field. As an instructor of front-line professionals\, he gives first-responders and career combatants the tools to understand social and physical precursors to violence\, as well as the dynamics of this ‘most primal human disorder’. As a coach and mentor\, Mathew has also helped athletes and coaches to gain a competitive advantage in their sport by interpreting unspoken signals. \nThese ‘soft skills’ are the most important in any self-defence repertoire\, regardless of the environment — after all\, you can’t lose a battle you don’t have! Unfortunately\, they are also the most neglected and rarely taught skills in the self-defence and security fields. So\, Kinetic Fighting has now developed this expanded and publicly accessible version of its ‘Red Flags to Violence’ training module delivered to military and police. \nIn this session and its follow-up module\, Dynamic Threat Management\, KEF Mission Specialist Instructor Mathew Wann will teach you essential principles and tactics that are:\n\nSuitable for civilians but proven by front-line operators\nAdaptable to any social or professional environment\nBacked by Mathew’s many years of career military experience and professional application.\n\nYou will also receive a FREE copy of the e-book Predicting Violence: How to Interpret Nonverbal Cues.** \n  \nIn this module (‘Foxtrot’ in the KEF–IC syllabus)\, you will be taught the levels of situation awareness and how to apply them in everyday life. This includes theoretical and practical applications of active observation and dynamic scanning of an environment. You’ll then discover the four main motives that drive violent attacks\, along with how these motives relate to violent attack (this information is vital in dynamic threat assessments\, as it provides an insight into the mind of a potential attacker). \nNext\, you’ll be introduced to the nonverbal behaviours that typically precede acts of interpersonal violence. This is followed by the basic principles of immediate threat assessment\, which complements and supports the applied combat-mindset principles taught in other KEF–IC modules such as Self-Protection Essentials (Alpha). \nThrough the Foxtrot module\, you will develop: \n\nsituational awareness skills\nconfidence in observing and monitoring threat environments\nan understanding of motivations for violence\nthe ability to rapidly detect potential threats\ntechniques to accurately analyse nonverbal behaviour.\n\nPrerequisites: None — beginners welcome \n  \nBOOK NOW – Early-bird special includes a FREE KEF–IC cap worth $28!** \nBRING A FRIEND & SAVE – Get a second ticket for 50% off! \n  \n* Book offer applies to full-course tickets only; book the Foxtrot and Golf modules together\, and receive an additional discount.  \n** Book before 11:59pm on 1 December to receive your free KEF–IC cap.

Take your violence-prevention skills to the next level with behavioural intelligence expert Mathew Wann\, author of Predicting Violence: How to Interpret Nonverbal Cues.\nThis session (the KEF–IC ‘Golf’ module) builds upon the lessons of Foxtrot\, teaching you how to use nonverbal analysis while operating in a threat environment. You will increase your knowledge of key nonverbal indicators of violence/aggression\, and learn to contextualise those behaviours to shared environments such as cafés\, bars\, train stations and carparks. The module also teaches the fundamentals of ‘baselining’ threats (vital for effective threat analysis) and introduces rapid profiling in dynamic environments. This includes analysing examples in a classroom environment\, then applying these skills in practical\, scenario-based drills. The lessons culminate in a high-fidelity simulation exercise\, enabling you to put your training into action. \nThrough the Golf module\, you will develop: \n\nconfidence in avoiding violent attack by ‘base-lining’ and profiling potential threats\ntechniques that reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim\nversatile conflict-management skills\nthe ability to operate in environments where multiple threats exist\na stronger ‘combat mindset’ and ability to reduce stress reactions \nconfidence in using nonverbal analysis in high-stress environments.\n\nYour instructor will also field questions and troubleshoot\, helping you to work through any issues you’re having in understanding and applying the principles and tactics.
