SUMMARY:Self-Protection Essentials + Survivability Blueprint – Melbourne
DESCRIPTION:Train in Paul Cale’s world-leading close-combat program used by Australian Special Forces & Army\, tailored for everyday self-protection.\n\n\n\nThe Personal Combatives courses in the KEF–IC syllabus use the same principles and core techniques as the Australian Army Combatives Program (ACP). The difference? You learn only what’s applicable to tackling violence as a civilian. Battlefield rules of engagement are replaced with the laws of self-defence\, and a soldier’s weapon systems are replaced with your body\, and whatever you can legally carry or find at hand. But the mindset remains the same.   \nA veteran of multiple combat tours with the 2nd Commando Regiment\, former Sergeant Paul Cale literally rewrote the book on Special Forces Close-Quarter Fighting (CQF). He then created Infantry Integrated Combat (ICC)\, which later became the foundation for ACP — now the official close-combat training system for Australia’s general Army. \nKinetic Fighting is the culmination of all Cale’s work in combatives\, and the name used to describe the method underpinning his military programs. Whether you want to learn mental strategies and tactical applications to make your existing martial arts skills more effective\, or you need to build effective self-protection skills from the ground up\, this course is for you. \nYou may even want to take your first steps toward a KEF–IC black belt. KEF–IC (Kinetic Fighting–Integrated Combat) is a new program within the Australian Army that combines tactical combative skills with free sparring/rolling and the competitive elements of the Integrated Combat Clubs\, which are located at Army barracks Australia-wide. As an extension of ACP\, KEF–IC provides the training principles and core syllabus required to give soldiers a survival skill set\, and mindset to match. Every element of KEF–IC is focused toward real combat and was taught to non-military personnel for the first time in 2019. \nON THIS COURSE\, KEF–IC INSTRUCTOR AJ KEARNS WILL TEACH CALE’S BATTLE-PROVEN PRINCIPLES AND SURVIVAL TACTICS\, WHICH ARE:\n\nAdaptable to any martial art or professional operational procedure\nSuitable for civilians & front-line operators\, from beginners to professionals\nBacked by Paul Cale’s 25+ years of career military experience & 40 years in martial arts\, as well as AJ’s own extensive experience and qualifications. \n\n\nCOURSE DETAILS:\n\nSession 1 – Self-Protection Essentials:\n\nIn this module (known as Alpha in the KEF–IC syllabus)\, you will cover the key aspects of surviving — and preventing — violent confrontation: mindset\, tactics\, legal and moral considerations\, and functional\, high-percentage techniques. You will also discover how KEF–IC’s battlefield origins inform everything that you learn\, and how to adapt its proven principles to your own abilities and existing skill-sets (if applicable). \nPrerequisites: None – complete beginners welcome* \nTime: Sunday 7 February\, 9:00am–1:00pm \nSession 2 – Survivability Blueprint:\nBuild on the previous day’s training with four hours of skill integration\, ACP/KEF–IC reflex training and drills to help you develop your fundamental skills into an effective arsenal. \nIn this module (Bravo in the KEF–IC syllabus) you will be introduced to principles of adaptation and shown how free play and sparring/rolling can enhance tactical capability. Learn grappling skills applicable to the battlefield\, and competitive drills where the objectives support tactical aims and develop your combative skill sets. This session provides the framework for your ongoing refinement and development of all the self-protection skills and strategies learned. \nPrerequisites: Self-Protection Essentials (KEF–IC Alpha)* \nTime: Sunday 7 February\, 2:00pm–6:00pm \n  \nBOOK NOW & SAVE – Receive a discounted ticket with our early-bird special**  \n  \n\nTHE INSTRUCTOR:\nThis training in essential\, real-world self-protection skills will be delivered by KEF–IC Instructor AJ Kearns (pictured above\, right). SUMMARY:Self-Protection Essentials + Survivability Blueprint – Brisbane
\nON THIS COURSE\, COMBATIVES MASTER TRAINER (CMT) GEORDIE LAVERS-MCBAIN WILL TEACH CALE’S BATTLE-PROVEN PRINCIPLES AND SURVIVAL TACTICS\, WHICH ARE:\n\nAdaptable to any martial art or professional operational procedure\nSuitable for civilians & front-line operators\, from beginners to professionals\nBacked by Paul Cale’s 25+ years of career military experience & 40 years in martial arts\, as well as Geordie’s own extensive experience and qualifications. \n\n\nCOURSE DETAILS:\n\nSession 1 – Self-Protection Essentials:\n\nIn this module (known as Level 1-Alpha in the KEF–IC syllabus)\, you will cover the key aspects of surviving — and preventing — violent confrontation: mindset\, tactics\, legal and moral considerations\, and functional\, high-percentage techniques. You will also discover how KEF–IC’s battlefield origins inform everything that you learn\, and how to adapt its proven principles to your own abilities and existing skill-sets (if applicable). \nPrerequisites: None – complete beginners welcome* \nTime: Saturday 14 November\, 9:00am–1:00pm \nSession 2 – Survivability Blueprint:\nBuild on the previous day’s training with four hours of skill integration\, ACP/KEF–IC reflex training and drills to help you develop your fundamental skills into an effective arsenal. \nIn this module (Level 1-Bravo in the KEF–IC syllabus) you will be introduced to principles of adaptation and shown how free play and sparring/rolling can enhance tactical capability. Learn grappling skills applicable to the battlefield\, and competitive drills where the objectives support tactical aims and develop your combative skill sets. This session provides the framework for your ongoing refinement and development of all the self-protection skills and strategies learned. \nPrerequisites: Self-Protection Essentials (KEF–IC Level 1-Alpha)* \nTime: Saturday 14 November\, 2:00pm–6:00pm \n  \nBOOK NOW & SAVE – Receive a free KEF–IC cap and discounted ticket with our early-bird special**  \nBRING A FRIEND & SAVE – Buy two or more tickets for even bigger savings \n\n \nTHE INSTRUCTOR:\nThis training in essential\, real-world self-protection skills will be delivered by KEF–IC CMT Geordie Lavers-McBain. Geordie is contracted by the Australian Defence Force to teach weekly at the Combatives Centre at Gallipoli Barracks\, Enoggera. He is\, to date\, the only civilian to have completed ACP (the Army Combatives Program designed by Paul Cale) Levels 1\, 2 and 3 and Instructor qualification. He has also completed the US Marines’ MCMAP (Marine Corps Martial Arts Program) black belt curriculum. He holds black belts in 23 different martial/combat arts\, including a 2nd Degree in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and 6th Degree in Jissen Budo\, and instructor qualifications in 14 other fighting systems including muay Thai\, boxing and wrestling. \n  \n\nCOVID-19 policy: In addition to enhanced safety and hygiene protocols\, participants will be allowed to work with only one other person for the duration of the seminar if they choose. SUMMARY:Self-Protection Essentials – Adelaide
\nOn this course\, Combatives Master Trainer (CMT) Geordie Lavers-McBain will teach Paul Cale’s battle-proven principles and survival tactics\, which are:\n\nAdaptable to any martial art or professional operational procedure\nSuitable for civilians & front-line operators\, from beginners to professionals\nBacked by Cale’s 25+ years of career military experience & 40+ years in martial arts\, as well as Geordie’s own extensive qualifications in multiple martial arts and the Australian Army Combatives Program. \n\n\nCOURSE DETAILS:\n\n\nIn the Self-Protection Essentials module (known as Level 1-Alpha in the KEF–IC syllabus)\, you will cover the key aspects of surviving — and preventing — violent confrontation: mindset\, tactics\, legal and moral considerations\, and functional\, high-percentage techniques. You will also discover how KEF–IC’s battlefield origins inform everything that you learn\, and how to adapt its proven principles to your own abilities and existing skill-sets (if applicable). \nPrerequisites: None – complete beginners welcome* \nTime: Saturday 3 October 1:00pm–5:00pm \nBONUS: Free ground-fighting skill development session\, 1 hour** \n\n\n\nBOOK NOW – Buy two or more tickets and save! \n  \nTHE INSTRUCTOR:\nThis training in essential\, real-world self-protection skills will be delivered by KEF–IC CMT Geordie Lavers-McBain. \n  \nCOVID-19 policy: In addition to enhanced safety and hygiene protocols\, participants will be asked to work with only one other person for the duration of the seminar. SUMMARY:Self-Protection Essentials + Survivability Blueprint – Mittagong
\nOn this course\, Combatives Master Trainer (CMT) and Australian Army instructor WO2 James Hellyer will teach Cale’s battle-proven principles and survival tactics\, which are: \n\nAdaptable to any martial art or professional operational procedure\nSuitable for civilians & front-line operators\, from beginners to professionals\nBacked by Paul Cale’s 25+ years of career military experience & 40+ years in martial arts\, as well as James’ own extensive experience and qualifications. \nPrerequisites: None – complete beginners welcome* \nTime: Sunday 2 August 9:00am–1:00pm \nSession 2 – Survivability Blueprint:\nBuild on the previous day’s training with four hours of skill integration\, ACP/KEF–IC reflex training and drills to help you develop your Level 1 skills into an effective arsenal. \nPrerequisites: Self-Protection Essentials (KEF–IC Level 1-Alpha)* \nTime: Sunday 2 August 1:30pm–5:30pm \n  \nBOOK NOW & SAVE – Receive a free KEF–IC cap and discounted ticket with our early-bird special**  \nBRING A FRIEND & SAVE – Buy two or more tickets for even bigger savings \n\n\n \nTHE INSTRUCTOR:\nThis training in essential\, real-world self-protection skills will be delivered by Combatives Master Trainer (CMT) James Hellyer. With over 21 years of military service\, CMT James is one of four ACP/KEF–IC Combatives Master Trainers recognised by the programs’ creator Paul Cale. Along with his history of instructing the Army’s version of KEF–IC (ACP) to a variety of military units domestically and operationally\, James’ teaching leverages off 30 years of martial arts experience\, covering a variety of systems. These  include boxing\, judo\, Japanese jujutsu\, Kudo Daido Juku\, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and military combatives. This experience\, coupled with this extensive military training\, gives him a unique ability to connect with KEF–IC students of various styles and abilities to deliver the program with relevance\, experience and professionalism. With a passionate and relatable style of instruction\, James ensures his students leave with real-world skills that can be relied upon in a moment of conflict. \n  \nCOVID-19 policy: In addition to enhanced safety and hygiene protocols\, participants will be asked to work with only one other person for the duration of the seminar. Special discounts also apply to encourage bringing your own training partner (see above).  \n* Do both modules together for a discount. (If you have previously completed the course and would like to do a refresher\, contact info@kefgroup.com for special pricing.) \n** Early-bird special ends at 11:59pm on 22 July.
