Who is Graded in KEF–IC?

The table below lists all KEF–IC grades legitimately held by practitioners of the system, as recognised by Kinetic Fighting–Integrated Combat and its chief instructor, Paul Cale. Some (as listed on our KEF–IC Instructors page) have also been certified as instructors. However, if they are not a Combatives Master Trainer (CMT) — meaning, a KEF–IC Black Belt — they are licensed only to teach the syllabus below their current grade. For example, a Grey Belt Instructor can teach the Level 1 (Tan Belt) syllabus, as covered in the Level 1-Alpha and Level 1-Bravo courses.

Only a certified CMT can conduct the ‘Charlie’ grading test for any level. In turn, all KEF–IC Instructors (including Combatives Master Trainers) are tested and certified by KEF–IC founder Paul Cale.

If any KEF–IC practitioners’ levels are listed below only as ‘ACP’, this means that they have achieved their KEF–IC certification through training in the aligned Army Combatives Program, run within the Australian Army.
